7 Best Places For Breakfast In Gulf Shores And Orange Beach

One of my favorite places on earth is Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Alabama, Truth be told I prefer its beaches, restaurants, and laid-back vibe to Florida. Often it’s less crowded, and I prefer going here in the off-season when the beaches are nearly deserted. I am learning to embrace slow travel, and if you want a beach vacation that focuses on slow travel, you should choose an Alabama beach vacation.

This post is in partial partnership with Visit Alabama Beaches. All opinions are strictly my own.

What Differentiates Gulf Shores From Orange Beach?

I always get a lot of people asking what the difference is between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. I simply tell them Gulf Shores is more lively and the beach is more crowded. If you enjoy a lively fast-paced, family vacation, Gulf Shores is for you. Orange Beach, on the other hand, tends to be quieter and smaller than Gulf Shores. It’s the perfect destination for those who crave a laid-back beach vacation. The only thing that separates the two is Gulf State Park, which appeals to both sides.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have a sensational food scene. There are fabulous picks for lunch and dinner, but when I want to fuel my day without cracking an egg in my vacation rental, I enjoy these options for the best breakfast in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

For a more laid-back, local experience, head to Duck’s Diner now in two locations. The original in Orange Beach, and now a Gulf Shores location. This family-owned diner serves up classic Southern comfort food with a smile. The menu is packed with hearty options like biscuits and gravy, omelets, and grits. Try the Creole Shrimp and Grits Cakes. The portions are large, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly – everything you want in a breakfast joint. It’s the kind of place where you’ll feel like a regular after just one visit.

If you’re looking for a lighter breakfast option with a side of charm, The Southern Grind Coffee House At The Wharf in Orange Beach is a must-visit. This eclectic café offers a variety of breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and specialty coffee drinks, all served in a cozy, beachy atmosphere. Their avocado toast is my favorite (can you tell I love avocado toast), and their smoothies are perfect for a refreshing start to your day.  Plus, the café doubles as a beach-themed boutique, so you can browse unique gifts and home décor while you sip your latte. I love to buy gifts here.

Tip: Have one of their specialty lattes, my favorite is Honey Bee, and bring ground Bushwacker flavored coffee home with you.
