Plan YOUR perfect Ireland Getaway!
“We may have bad weather in Ireland, but the sun shines in the hearts of the people and that keeps us all warm.” – Marianne Williamson
There are two things that will entice you to return to Ireland again and again. The people and the scenery. The charm, warmth, and quick wit of the Irish are unforgettable. The scenery…well, is simply magical with a sprinkle of mystery added in. While Dublin is the hub of the country, the breathtaking beauty and soul can be found in the small villages, along the narrow two-lane roads, and the sea spray of the coast. An Ireland getaway is a must for all travelers, a vacation that will stick with you long after you have experienced that traditional Irish breakfast.

I can assure you, you will want to savor Ireland, take your time, do as I did and rent a car to partake of all of Ireland’s charms.
When it comes to trip planning, I typically spend weeks, perhaps months planning. I’m kind of a travel planning geek. I study Google Maps, read a blog post or fifty, but by far my favorite planning tool is books. I DEVOUR books about my intended destination. Planning for an Ireland getaway is no different.

When I planned my Ireland getaway, I turned to my friend Jody Halsted. Her website, Ireland Family Vacations, was a valuable resource. She is an expert on Ireland travel and her travel guide to Ireland is packed with 120 pages of valuable information in a no-nonsense format.

In Planning the Ireland Vacation of Your Dreams Jody gives you practical timeless advice on how YOU can plan your Ireland getaway.
This book begins with planning when to go on your trip. You can determine the best time to visit based on your individual needs. Jody then goes on to cover practical aspects of your trip such as how much money you will need, planning an itinerary, where to stay, and what to eat. One of the most useful pieces of information that she covers in the “getting around” chapter is her advice on rental car insurance. I found this to be one of the most confusing parts about traveling to Ireland. I always tell people to rent a car, because it is the BEST way to see Ireland, but the rental insurance can be a hard subject to navigate. Not here. Jody explains what you need and why.
Planning the Ireland Vacation of Your Dreams also covers packing tips, shopping and the best souvenirs to bring home, and even tips on overcoming jetlag. I found the book, along with Jody’s website, an invaluable resource for planning the perfect Ireland getaway. I know you will love it too!
Check out Jody’s website Ireland Family Vacations for extensive Ireland getaway planning tools.
I’d like to thank Jody for sending me a copy of this book for review. As always I give honest reviews.
