My vintage camper renovation is nearly complete! How I love my own space and my first blog post from Beatrice!
Another milestone in my Beatrice journey!
I am writing this post from Beatrice! My first of many. Her interior is nearly complete except for the floor. That didn’t stop me from decorating and putting some finishing touches on her to make her my very own.
To announce that the cushions were completed, Rick served me supper last night in Beatrice. A frozen chicken alfredo pizza tastes perfect when it is served in your very own newly renovated vintage camper!

I was anxiously waiting for the completed cushions to come back from the person sewing them. I never gave it a thought when he told me to come down to Beatrice for supper that he had picked them up earlier in the day when I was at work.
So what was a mere dream one year ago, has become a reality. Having my very own space to create, meditate, read, listen to music, and anything else I want to do without distraction fills me with such utter joy. A space filled with reminders of places and things I love. Things that bring me peace. As I sit here writing this, I struggle with the right words to describe how I feel. Eventually, I know in time they will come to me. For now, though I will just sit here and feel grateful. Grateful for a very talented hubby, grateful for all the places and experiences I have had and will have, and most of all grateful for the courage to follow the path where dreams become reality.

Thanks for reading! Read more about my camper renovation right here!
Go explore! The work is waiting.

Absolutely beautiful!!!! This is my dream i wish i could get one just for myself, im no good at remodeling so i would need one completely redone, and i could do the decorating, you know that would make a great little business, buying old campers ir making your own, selling them completed just not decorated!!!! You leave that to the new owner!!!! What a fantastic idea if i had some cash to start!!!!! I just pray that maybe one day i will get lucky and get one for myself what a dream that woukd be!!!!!!!
Keep looking! Check Facebook Marketplace often, just be careful for sellers that slap some paint on an old camper to cover up leaks and rot. There are a lot of people out there that scam people. If a seller did the Reno themselves they should be able to show you photos. We have done more since my Beatrice.
Hi Lori, I just came across your blog because I am often searching for anything vintage camper related. I have wanted one for years and seeing what you and your husband have done is so amazing, and exactly what I want to do! We are soon moving from Illinois to Minneapolis area and I was thinking, gee I need a she-shed so bad. I knit, crochet, needlepoint, sew, etc. and I am currently in our unfinished basement where my teen boys ride their scooters and pound on a drum kit. Not exactly my own creative space! Not to mention chilly and there are spiders, but I digress. I am bookmarking your blog and showing my husband immediately. Thank you for your creativity and these wonderful pics to showcase your dream space. LOVE IT!!
Jenny, Your comment just wanna my heart!! Beatrice has been a total labor of love! I too have wanted my own space for so long. My Husband is home now all the time running 2 home based businesses and the stock from his one business takes over our house during hunting season. I had no place just for me to write. It has been an ambitious project and I’m lucky my hubby is very handy. I’m am happy you will follow along on my blog. It’s time I updated since her interior is almost finished! I am so happy you found me!!!
Lori, I just reread your blog and you are my inspiration to follow what you have done I have been doing for others for so long that I have kind of lost myself so I bought a old camper and I’m going to do it with three grown kids to foster kids 6 grandkids one more on the way it’s time Grandma takes care of herself I’ve been following what you have done to Beatrice and I am so happy for you thank you for all the updates your she shed is amazing and your dog looks comfy and there is still snow on the ground I really need to get busy on this camper cuz it’s not nearly ready for me to go yet
Gina, reading this just literally brings tears to my eyes! The one goal I have with this blog is to inspire women to follow their dreams. It’s wonderful to hear you took that step and so important to do things just for ourselves! Good luck on your adventure and I would love to see pictures!!!
I’m SO happy for you, Lori!!! I know EXACTLY the feelings you are feeling. I share in the joy with you! And I just love the photo of Zoe looking out the window. Priceless!
I’m sure you get what I’m feeling! It’s so peaceful! Zoe already found her spot, although after a short nap she started to get restless ๐
